Beauty on a Dreary Winter Day

I would like to full body hug whoever invented the idea of growing bulbs in the house during the winter. This past weekend was the coldest in quite some time and yet I had the beauty of a spring garden, right in my living room. I don't know what kind of flower it is or what to do with it after it dies but I am LOVING it!

And is it just me or do these stamens look like little loofah brushes?

Smile, life is good!

What a great idea to do bulbs inside.....
Enjoy it while it lasts.

Ooooo..Chaunce! Is it an amaryllis? I know you can buy those to bloom inside in winter. I used to send these and I think lilies of the valley in pots to my mom. Gorgeous, stunning photos. The flower will last a couple of weeks I think. Maybe 3 or 4 if I recall. ENJOY!
